I am trying Gowalla rather than Foursquare. Seems better interface to me and easier to follow.

I think with Foursquare it's very important to realise your venue (whether it's a museum or not) can become part of the game even without you knowing it. As the number of users grows, people will start discussing your museum without you knowing about it. Personally, I'm the mayor of a museum and they don't even know about it. Okay, I won't be saying bad things, but some people might. Or, they might be saying really good stuff about your museum, give recommendations. The Foursquare community is a quite positive one and - at least here in Holland - they're a serious one. Recommendations by friends are easily followed.

Check it out, you might be surprised!
